Channeling Your Child’s Higher Self

 

Before doing any intuitive work, like channeling your child's higher self, it is important to prepare yourself and to end your session appropriately. This can be done simply.

 

There are several reasons why this is important: When you channel you open yourself up to having a spiritual experience - like having a conversation with your child's higher self. This is beneficial in channeling, but not very helpful when you are finished. You do not want to go about your day this energetically "open." First and foremost, you are ungrounded. When we are ungrounded and energetically open, we are taking in a lot of "energetic information" that can get in the way of thinking clearly and being in the present moment. 

Before channeling or doing any energy work, consider the following:  

 

  • Ground yourself. There are many grounding exercises available to learn.

  • Create a sacred space. Invite your spiritual team (spirit guides, angels, saints, power animals, ancestors) to create a circle around you for support, love, and if you feel inclined, protection.

  • Set an intention for your channeling. "My son Austin's higher self, I invite you to have a conversation with me now."

  • Give thanks before and after the channeling session.

  • Close the channeling session. "This conversation with Austin's higher self is complete." You can also take it a step further by energetically closing the channeling session. I visualize a gold magnetic rose outside of my aura. I set the intention that this gold rose is vibrating at the energy of my son's higher self, and I say, "This gold rose is absorbing all the energy from Austin's higher self and from this channeling now." Then I destroy the rose so all of his energy returns to him, and I don't carry it with me for the rest of the day. It also creates a healthy separation between us.

  • To end, I ground myself using the Grounding Cord exercise (audio on this website). Then I visualize a gold sun above me filled with my life force energy. I draw down this gold sun to fil me completely, feeling grounded and refreshed. 

 

With practice, this set up and closing process should take a short period of time.

Creating a Sacred Space Before Working with Our Energy      

 

I create a sacred space before working with my energy. First, I ground the room I am in just as I would ground my spirit in my body and to the Earth before meditation. I acknowledge the space around me as sacred, and with my intention and intuition, I raise the vibration of the space. Creating a sacred space can be done in countless ways. Some will invite the power of the Earth and its elements by “calling in” the four directions (east, south, west, north) to hold the space as sacred and raise the vibration. Some will invite their ancestors to create a circle around them. Some will invite their spirit guides to create a circle of light above, around, and below them. Some will feel the need to call in protection from the Archangels or power animals to surround them. Some will use their intuition to create a bubble of bright, golden light filled with the highest vibration of divine love to encase them and the room they are in.

A simple way to raise the vibration of any space is to imagine it changing to the color of bright gold. Imagine the entire room you are sitting in now shifting to shimmering gold; even the furniture and your clothing are sparkling. When you have set the energy of your room to the color gold, say “I own this space and it is sacred.” And so it will be because you are that powerful. This tool may take some time to learn, but it is very effective at setting the energy of any space, no matter where you are.

The purpose of creating a sacred space is to “set” the energy to a higher vibration and claim it as our own. We are effectively saying, “This is my space, and I am setting the energy. The energy vibration is high, and in doing so, a field of love and light surrounds me.” Why do we care if the energy vibration is higher than before, or that we are setting an intention to “own” our space, especially when we are in our house? The simplest answer is that there are different forms of energy around us, and they vibrate at different frequencies or energy levels. This is normal. When we are working with our energy, our intention is to heal. We set the energy of our room at a higher vibration so the energy of our room becomes a neutral field of energy that allows us to connect with ourselves in a unique way without unnecessary distraction. For example, our partner may be angry about a work situation and he has been sharing his concerns throughout the day. This is okay. However, when we go into our room to meditate and work with our energy, we may have “matched” our partner’s energy, i.e., we are thinking about our own frustrations that are very similar to his. Or we are preoccupied with his emotional pain. This brings us to the next step, which is bringing our crown chakra to the color gold. When we visualize or intuit or crown chakra at the neutral color gold, we set our energetic field as our own, just like we are doing when we bring our room (or house) to the color gold. Sometimes I imagine my auric field the color gold. There are many ways we can creatively own our energy and the spaces we occupy—for healing or throughout the day when we need energy management to feel more clear and grounded.

 

Setting the energy of our space to “own the room” does four important things:

 

  • Owning the room clears the room of other forms of energy to create a neutral space for us to work in.

  • It allows us an optimal environment to raise our spiritual vibration and heal.

  • Clearing the room in this way gives ourselves permission “to be where we’re at” so we can feel our emotions, let go, and have an experience that is entirely our own. We are creating an environment in which we can focus on ourselves and on our healing.

  • Owning the room gives us a neutral space to set an intention to heal without distraction or worry. We can ground ourselves and connect with our intuition more effectively. when we are immersed in a high vibration like the energy of gold.

Channeling Your Child’s Higher Self Protocol

This following protocol was channeled from Austin's higher self to help you get started. Experiment with this protocol and find ways to make it your own:

Each step will help you become aware of, and tune in to, a unique feeling quality that your child possesses. This feeling quality is your way of creating a connection to your child’s higher self and soul to begin a conversation, like making a phone call. First, it is important to know that you are already communicating with your child’s higher self and soul all day long. You are doing so on a subconscious and intuitive level. And you are also aware of the “feeling quality” of your child as you communicate with her higher self throughout the day—you just haven’t made this awareness “conscious.” When you accept that this is a reality, and a truth, you will trust more in the process of communicating with your child’s higher self and do it more often.

 

Ask yourself: What feeling quality do I notice about my child when I’m sitting with her quietly, or when I think about her? Note: This feeling quality is not coming from the thoughts of your mind.

Example: When you sit with your child and allow the worries of the day melt away, and allow the worries of caregiving melt away, what feeling quality do you have when you sit with your child? This will be your tether to your child when you communicate with his/her higher self.

 

  • Sit with this feeling quality for a while. There may be more than one form of energy that you are connecting with intuitively, so sit long enough to find the right “resonance” that you attribute to your child. There may not be a “name” to attribute to this quality of feeling, and that’s okay. This step helps you develop a conscious awareness of your child’s feeling quality on a physical, emotional, intuitive, and mental level.

  • “Test” this feeling quality out. You can do this when you sit with your child and embody this feeling quality in your heart, holding it for a while. Is the quality of feeling in resonance with your child? You can also use your intuition, asking your soul “yes” or “no” questions.

  • Then go into meditation, or quiet contemplation, and sit with the feeling quality that is in resonance with your child. Feel it in your heart and body and let it expand to fill you.

  • When you have experienced the feeling quality of your child several times in stillness, you have your child’s “phone number,” so to speak, and you are now ready to dial it to make a call to her higher self.

  • Now, go into meditation or quiet contemplation (alone and free of distractions) with the intention that you are going to communicate with your child’s higher self. Allow the feeling quality that you attribute to your child to fill you up. Then invite your child’s higher self to come forward and wait for a response. Use your intuition to communicate with your child’s higher self. Make it simple, starting with a “Hello.”

 

When your child’s higher self responds, notice the quality of the voice you hear in your mind or the pictures you see, or the feeling you have in your body. The more you communicate with your child’s higher self or soul, the more familiar you become with the quality of her “frequency,” trusting that you have made a connection.

 

When you make a connection, have a conversation! Talk with your child’s higher self as you would with anyone else. Learn about your child in this unique and profound way. This is an aspect of your child that “feels” like your child but is also different. You will understand this more as you practice.

 Things you can do to support your channeling:

  1. Maintain a simple meditation practice. Read anything written by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Many years ago, I started my mindfulness training by taking a 101 course at Mindful Schools. I found it very helpful 101: Mindfulness Foundations 

  2. Develop your intuition. This will strengthen your channeling abilities.

  3. Journal after each communication to track the steps you took to connect with your child's higher self or soul. Again, there is a fair amount of practice involved, so it’s beneficial to recall what “worked” after your communication has ended. Writing down your conversations is also helpful. While reading over past communications, you may pick up on something new that you didn’t notice before, and helps you in your intuitive development and your journey of self-transformation.

 

Be comfortable making adjustments to this process. The more you practice and experience, the more it will become “your own.” For example, you may find that being alone outside in nature is more helpful to connect with your child than being in your house. This is often the case for me. I like to find a tree or flowering shrub to focus on as I channel Austin’s higher self with my eyes open.

 

Most of all, have fun and enjoy this way of communicating with your child!
